Hi Donna~
I just wanted to thank you for all the time you have spent walking me thru the purchase of our new family member, Thor. You answered all of my questions without hesitation & took the time to talk me thru all of my concerns. As you know I spoke with many breeders about buying a havanese before I came to you. You were the most help full and honest person I found. I'm grateful for your honesty & commitment to the havanese breed. You set a high standard for your breeding practice and it shows in your demeanor as well as the puppies you produce. Thor is truly a blessing to our family. Our kids call him there new little brother.
Thank you & God Bless you!

Double Nickel Canines: We are so pleased with our newest addition, Molly. As you may recall, my wife spent countless hours researching the appropriate breed, given our unique constraints. Yet, and in large part due to our geographic location, we struggled to find what we concluded to be ideal (a Havanese puppy) in our area. Thus, we broadened our electronic search and ultimately came to find Double Nickel Canines in Oklahoma, nearly 2,000 miles away. Needless to say I was very hesitant purchasing a dog I could not personally evaluate, however, through the photographic skills of Donna and her knowledge of the breed, I grew to feel secure enough to give the go-ahead. I can honestly report to you, if it was not for the personal attention and willingness to answer every single question to the best of your ability (and we know my questions were plentiful), our search would still be underway and the void Molly has filled recently would remain null. Notably, and perhaps both the most reassuring and critical aspect of our communication was the conversation you brokered between myself and veterinarian, Dr. Farr in Oklahoma. I want you to know, Dr. Farr's positive, professional statements, regarding your operation and practices let me rest easy until Molly arrived and I could see her in person. I believe your word is truly authentic and you strive to make each transition as smooth as possible for all concerned parties. Thank you Double Nickel Canines and Donna for connecting us to Molly. If I may ever be of assistance to you, your farm, or a prospective client miles away needing reinsurance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

2007 MERRY CHRISTMAS DEMETRI!! Hi Donna: I know I don't have to tell you again how wonderful Jersey is, but she really is such a sweet and cuddly, yet feisty little one. She's growing quickly and her and Bella are having an absolute ball playing with each other for hours on end. Christmas Eve was absolutely amazing!! My brother absolutely loves the puppy! I think he's decided to name her Taylor - he has gone around in circles trying to choose a name for her since he had no idea this was coming. He's completely over the moon and so is his girlfriend, she started crying when she saw her. He was definitely completely surprised - he had absolutely no idea we were doing this for him. He's wanted a Havanese for a few years now and is so excited he's finally got one of his own. I want to thank you again for all of your help and for giving us such wonderful pups. You spent a lot of time with me answering all my questions and addressing all my concerns and I greatly appreciate that. I think the fact that I contacted you within a week of getting Jersey to see about purchasing one for my brother for Christmas goes to show that you made this process enjoyable for us :-) Thanks again!!! Hi Donna, I want to give you an update on Zilpah. Well, we had several names and we came up with Austin. The name really fits his personality. Austin is acclimating well to us and the chilly weather here in Connecticut. He was very shy at first. He is very playful and loves my three year old Son. When he is not playing he is cuddling up with one of us on a blanket. We took him to the Vet last week and he was very sweet and playful with her. She said he was in perfect health and has a sweet disposition. She said I had a lovely dog and I agreed. Thank you for working with us on the arrangements to pick up Austin. He did very well on the plane. We are very happy with Austin and I want you to know that we absolutely love him. Thanks again for everything. Sincerely, Alicia, Peter, and William 1/07/2008 |

Donna. She's a big hit. My kids laughed at me when I suggested Starlette. I let everyone have a turn at trying to name her. Micki (the daughter who came with me), at the last moment, said she looked like a Lola. Everyone agreed that it fit and Lola thinks it's very elegant so, Lola it is!
She got me up at 5 am this morning. She had a nice set-up in my bathtub but she didn't like it much. I tried everything but she wouldn't conform. I have better plans for tonight.
Oh, I'm sure you wanna know what name I had picked out, right? It's a great name if you say it with the middle name but everyone said it was difficult to say and too long for such a little girl. I had come up with Marsha Mello Wright
GREAT, DON'T YOU THINK!!!!!!!!!?????????
I'll write again. I want to keep in touch because my 3 kids want one too. : )

Donna, 10/13/2007 Hi, Wanted to update you regarding Chloe. She has quickly settled in here, becoming a member of our family in the short time she has been with us. (By the way, after a bit of debate, ((a nice word for arguing,)) we've decided that Lexie will be her permanent name.) Lexie drank water immediately after coming out of the crate out of the Continental Cargo office. She didn't potty until about 3 hours after we had been home. I have been able to catch her little "signs" and get her outside, so we have not had but one potty accident in the house and that was my fault, I couldn't get my shoes on fast enough to get Lexie outside! What a smart little one she is! I praised her each time and she just wiggled and waggled, tail spinning, she was so happy to please me! Lexie slept in her crate last night fine, but she had to be in sight or scent of me or she was crying. With the sleep tape that I use and a small night light, we worked that out and she slept through the night, waking me only once at 3 am to go potty! We both woke at 7 am and I took her outside to potty. Her crate was dry. Miss Smarty-pants! She is eating and drinking fine. The vet said that she is healthy. He gave her the next booster shot and checked her stool sample, no worms! Lexie does cry unless there is one of us in sight. She DOES NOT like to be left alone, even for a second! Not unusual for a Havanese... All of my, very numerous, family members that have seen her so far have absolutely fallen in love with her! I'll have to keep a close eye on her, or I may find an empty crate one day! Thank you for making such a beautiful, happy, smart and adorable Havanese puppy!

Donna, I thought you might like to see how our little Lexie was doing. She weighs 5 pounds at 3 months. Lexie already knows the sit and lay down command. She is a FIREBALL! Extremely smart, easy to train, she is textbook Havanese. She keeps us in stitches with her antics. She amazes me when we go for a walk. I began leash training immediately when she arrived at 10 weeks of age. I took her on a 'left side of me, heal' walk. She walked like true Purebred Havenese..."Take my Picture Please!" Towards the end of the walk, she began to run ahead of me and ran right up our driveway! We live in the suburbs on a block of some 20 houses. I had taken her on a rather confusing walk. I continue to be shocked every time we go for a walk. No matter where I take her, she 'finds' her way home. So smart. She LOVED Halloween! She wanted to greet all of the children at the door. Luckily, my husband was home too, so I could hold Lexie up to see the children, while he handed out candy. Needless to say, there where many "Aww, how cute" from the children and parents alike. Lexie's tail and body was wagging like crazy! Lexie loves everyone, people and dogs! My sister Deannie has two mixed breed dogs, one medium/large male Jessie, one large female Jayden. Lexie loves playing with both of them and they love playing with her. She is everything we hoped for and more. Thank you again Donna. Pat, Eddie and Josh |

HI Donna! 11/3/2007 I just wanted to say thank you again for such a beautiful little puppy. She is such a joy and I absolutely love her, as well as everybody else. We went to the vet yesterday. The vet said she is perfect. I've decided that were going to name her Bailey. She responds to it like it's been her name since day 1. She is starting to settle in nicley and exploring a lot too. This morning we had our first successful potty outside, so hopefully that's a good sign for more to follow! The other animals, we have a cat and another dog, are still adjusting to her and aren't too happy she gets a lot of attention. She already climbs up the stairs and she doesn't whimper to long when she goes into her cage. I'll keep you posted on how well she is doing and I'll be sure to send some pictures of us for you. Thanks again for this precious baby girl. I love her so much! Heather Weinreich |

1/21/2008 Hi Donna! I wanted to give you an update on how Bailey has been doing! First off let me say that she is a spunky little girl and full of energy. I couldn't have asked for a better little buddy - she really is a mommy's girl and she's spoiled to the fullest! She recently finished all of her shots, which I may add that she does not care for. She's very protective but at the same time loves everyone she meets. I can't tell you how many times people said they were going to put her in a bag and take her home. She's completely house trained, but has an accident every once in a while. Her bed time is usually around 8:30 and is up at the crack of dawn every single day! She loves digging holes in the ground and fighting me to take her coat off when we come in from outside. She's learned how to sit and stay and now I'm working on speak with command - she does love to talk a lot, which she shows everyday! We recently took a trip home to Pennyslvania and she did great in the car! No accidents! She slept the whole time! I want to thank you again for this little bundle of love. She keeps me busy and I love her very much. I wish you all the best and I hope you are starting the new year just right! Take care and I'll be sure to give you another update in the near future! Good morning Donna When we brought Chloe home my other two didn't know what to do with her she is so tiny! Oreo started to lick her and Sydney well I'm not quite sure how she feels sometimes she goes up to her and sniffs her and others well she doesn't want to be bothered. I guess they have to learn to get along I'm not forcing them because that is the worst thing you could do. Chloe had her first visit at Uncle's house yesterday. She was going crazy she loved the christmas tree and started to play with the tree skirt, she was so cute! She also had her first company come over to see her. Boy was she spoiled! she was so wired I couldn't calm her down! She drove Aniela to school this morning and stopped and my husband's work to meet everyone there. She had such a ball! About a half an hour ago her and daddy did some mudding in the kitchen and now they are sleeping together! Yesterday, Donna I fed her and gave her some water as soon as we got her in the car. I wrapped her up in her new blanket so she was toasty warm! She is a doll. Everyone loves her they can't get enough of her! She just loves to play and boy does she ever like to cuddle. Last night wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We brought her to bed and she decided she wanted to play for a while, well a while turned into a couple of hours then she fell asleep and she got up around 5:00am to eat and have some water and she needed to go to the bathroom. I played with her for a while and brought her back to bed and she slept till 8:30 this morning. We would like to say Thank you for everything you have done. For breeding such a wonderful puppy! We could not ask for a better one, she is perfect! I know that you miss her and I will send some pictures out to you when things are quite and the kitchen is done which should be a couple of days. I will try to get all of the kids together for a great Picture. We will send one of our whole family just so you know who has your puppy! Donna When I saw the flight attendant carry Chloe into the airport I had tears in my eyes! Knowing that she is safe at last, I was so worried my stomach was turning the whole time. The flight although was delayed half an hour which wasn't to bad. My daughter was so excited when she saw her. WHAT A FEELING IT WAS! I will keep in touch with you Janie Ontario, Canada 12/5/2007 |
